ZeLin closes- moving to wholesale

ZeLin has some exciting news to announce! In response to the increase in demand for our organic juice products, ZeLin will now be shifting from brick and mortar stores to wholesaling.
Making this change will allow us to sell our juices in larger quantities at lower prices. Our products will be soon be available at numerous local retail and vendor locations making them more easily accessible to customers. While we will miss our store, employees and interaction with our customers, we must make the changes necessary to keep up with the high demand for our fresh, organic, juices. Currently, we are developing an innovative strategy to get ZeLin Juices in stores across the country. Keep your eyes peeled for the ZeLin brand in your local area!

Self Defense Techniques on “The Doctors”

Below are the two self defense techniques that I demonstrated on “The Doctors” show. These are quick and easy to learn and very effective. If you want more tips/tricks/techniques, click here to get my quick guide to personal self defense (go to “digital books” in the store to purchase).

Always try to keep things as simple as possible. Unless you train regularly in martial arts, complex move will only fail unless practiced continuously.

Attacker Grabs Wrist

It doesn’t matter if the attacker grabs the same side wrist or across the body, whether the thumb is facing your or not. There are 4 combinations of grabs to encounter. Try it with a friend to get a feel and visual.

• If possible always look for the unguarded groin kick first.
• Do NOT try to pull away! It is impossible to break the grip, and will only get into a tug of war match with your arm.
• Locate the thumb, it is the weakest part of the grip. There are 4 fingers on one side of your wrist and only a thumb on the other.
• Slightly bend your elbow (if necessary, take a small step towards your attacker)
• Roll your forearm towards his thumb and pull or twist away from the grip to free your arm.
• Look for an open strike before you run. I prefer using the palm or butt of the hand.

If you are not a trained puncher, you could otherwise damage your own hand. Aim for fragile places like the groin or nose. Scratching, clawing or gouging is also an option, and the eyes are optimal. Remember, clawing can be beneficial identifying an attacker who may be in a criminal DNA database.

Attacker Grabs Around Your Waist From Behind

This will more than likely be done by somebody larger and stronger than you. Remember, a child throwing a temper tantrum is much more difficult to pick up than one who wants to be.

• Always look for the easy strike first. Snap your head back trying to use the back of your head to smash the attackers nose.
• Look down and see the attacker’s arms around you. Make the letter C with your hands (your thumb and fingers will look like the letter C), placing both of them on one of his forearms.
• Push down on his forearm with both of your hands while simultaneously making yourself heavy.
• Make yourself heavy by straightening your legs in front of you a bit pushing into your attacker almost like you are in a sitting position, while not supporting your own weight (remember the child with a temper).
• When the hands break, you can run or turn towards your attacker if you think you can’t outrun him. If you turn towards him, try not to let go of the forearm as the grip breaks.
• Look for an open strike before you run. I prefer using the palm or butt of the hand.
